Our Wedding

Cory and Ashley met the old-fashioned way—the internet. Their first conversation was all about hockey: she’s loyal to the Pittsburgh Penguins (with a little love for the Colorado Avalanche), while he bleeds Minnesota Wild green. Their first date almost didn’t happen—Ashley spotted Cory walking away from their agreed meeting spot at Renegade Brewery. Luckily, she pushed on, arrived first, and Cory eventually circled back. Crisis averted. Their relationship took off thanks to a shared love for the Colorado outdoors—though the outdoors has a habit of fighting back. Ashley tore her ACL skiing at Arapahoe Basin (yes, the wedding venue), and Cory shattered his clavicle mountain biking at Maryland Mountain. They spent the summer nursing each other back to health. Romantic, right? Over time, Cory became Ashley’s travel partner and biggest cheerleader. He joined her in Minnesota for the Hot Chocolate Run and has supported her mission to run a 5K (or longer) in every U.S. state. Cory started the tradition of crossing every finish line together, hand in hand—something they plan to continue for all the states still left on her list. Ashley, in turn, became Cory’s personal concierge to all things fun. She took him to his first concert at Red Rocks, convinced him to join her at cooking classes, and introduced him to the simple joy of a lazy Sunday morning at the neighborhood farmers market. Cory also fit seamlessly into Ashley’s Colorado family—and even recruited her dog, Bruiser, for his ring pop proposal. Too excited to wait for the real engagement ring, Cory tied a handkerchief around Bruiser’s neck with the message, “Will you marry my dad?” For good measure, he added a ring pillow holding a blue raspberry ring pop. Bruiser played his part perfectly, sat still, and earned himself a mountain of treats. It only made sense for these two to make it official in the mountains of Colorado—the backdrop for so many of their adventures (and a few battle scars). Now, they can’t wait to start the next chapter with all of you there to celebrate.

They met online, bonded over hockey, survived a few mountain mishaps, and got engaged with the help of a dog and a ring pop. Now they’re saying ‘I do’ in the mountains they love most.

The ultimate big sister, Amanda has always been a role model for Ashley—whether they were battling it out in academics (Ashley insists she usually won) or teaming up on the soccer field. Ashley had a special talent for getting under Amanda’s skin and earning the legendary big-sister side eye. Amanda even let Ashley live with her and Jay during her residency in Connecticut, where Ashley happily served as their first ‘practice child.’ She excelled in the role—especially as a shopping partner—regularly adding ‘essentials’ like a bocce set or giant inflatable bowling to Amanda’s cart. Perfect training for their eventual promotion to real parenthood with Gavin and Connor.

Trainee turned ride-or-die, Megan met Ashley during her residency in South Carolina, where Ashley was her preceptor. After surviving that, they celebrated with the ultimate girls’ trip through Portugal and Spain. Since then, they’ve been inseparable—whether catching up at pharmacy conferences or chasing new adventures. Together they’ve floated thousands of feet in the air in a hot air balloon and raced through the snow on dog sleds in northern Minnesota… and they’re still looking for their next thrill.

Cory and Timmy—the family’s unofficial crash test dummy—were inseparable bunkmates growing up, usually teaming up against Ben and Justin. College turned them into spirited hockey rivals—Tim at Minnesota, Cory at UND. Tim eventually moved to Berlin with Beth and welcomed their first child, Ophelia. When Cory and Ashley visited for Oktoberfest, let’s just say a few steins didn’t survive the night.

Cory’s longtime ski sidekick. From Lakeville North High to the University of North Dakota, they’ve stuck together. Ryan moved to Colorado first, and Cory followed a year later—probably just to make sure Ryan wasn’t skiing without him.

Ryan Strelesky

Justin “the favorite” Bohmert is one of Cory’s older brothers and was kind enough to ‘voluntarily’ drive Cory to high school every day. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth—another hockey rival of UND. These days, he lives in Victoria, MN, with his wife Shelly and their twins, Nick and Emma, who keeps them running at full speed (and maybe hiding in the pantry for snacks).

Justin Bohmert

Justin and Shelly’s pride and joy—also known as little Evel Knievel and the Ultimate Girly Girl. When they’re not asleep (rare), Emma is busy ruling the kingdom in her tiara while Nick is off turning any patch of dirt into a monster truck arena. Together, they keep their parents and grandparents delightfully exhausted!

The firstborn Bohmert boy and the tallest of the bunch, Ben mastered the art of being a “big” brother—both literally and figuratively. From pushing Cory’s buttons (and even moving his bed onto the porch) to now teaching and “torturing” 4th graders in Indiana, Ben has never lost his mischievous streak. Luckily, Mim keeps him humble despite her much smaller stature. His greatest joys, though, are Clare—who can outrun him—and Alex—who builds better robots than he does.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is the closest airport to Keystone. Summer travel can be busy, and afternoon storms sometimes cause delays, so plan your flights with a little buffer time just in case.

Parking

If you’re driving, parking is available at both Keystone Resort and Arapahoe Basin. Check signage when you arrive—some lots are free, while others may have a small fee or require a shuttle ride.

Weather

Mountain weather can change quickly! Days can be sunny and warm, but evenings cool off fast. Pack layers, a light jacket, and maybe a rain layer just in case.

Altitude

Keystone and Arapahoe Basin sit above 9,000 feet, so take it slow your first day, drink plenty of water, and don’t be surprised if that one cocktail hits a little harder than expected.

Ceremony FAQs

When should I arrive at Arapahoe Basin?

Please arrive between 4:00 and 4:15 PM and gather at the 6th Alley Bar &amp; Grill at the base of the ski resort. Around 4:30 PM (weather dependent), our wedding coordinator will guide you to the chairlift for the ride up to Black Mountain Lodge, where the ceremony and reception will be held.Arriving early? Grab a drink or snack—A-Basin is famous for their Bloody Marys!

Where is the ceremony?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Black Mountain Lodge, located mid-mountain at 11,500 feet. Guests will take the chairlift from the base to reach the lodge. Don’t worry—the lift can stop to accommodate all abilities, and attendants will help you on and off. Just remember to put the safety bar down for the ride.Weather permitting, the ceremony will be on the deck, with stunning views of the Continental Divide and wildflower-filled fields.

Where should I sit?

Sit wherever you like—there are no "bride's side" or "groom's side" rules. We just ask that you leave the first few rows open for immediate family and the wedding crew.

Reception FAQs

When does the reception start?

Cocktail hour begins immediately after the ceremony on the deck at Black Mountain Lodge. Enjoy drinks, light bites, and lawn games to kick off the celebration. Dinner and dancing will follow inside the lodge.

How do I know where to sit?

There will be a seating chart to help you find your assigned table. Once there, sit wherever you like—there are no assigned seats, so feel free to cozy up next to your favorite people.

What time does the reception end?

The reception wraps up at 10 PM. You’ll ride the chairlift back down to the base, so don’t forget a jacket or shawl—mountain nights can be chilly. Shuttles will be waiting to take you back to Keystone Resort.

We’ll have an Italian‑style buffet for the reception featuring caprese salad, focaccia, charred broccolini, chicken Milanese, roasted potatoes, heirloom tomato &amp; mozzarella ravioli, and short rib lasagna. A kids’ meal (chicken fingers and fries) is available — please note your family’s choices on your RSVP so we can accommodate dietary needs.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

The cocktail reception and buffet will offer a variety of options for different dietary needs. For allergies or special restrictions, please reach out to Ashley or Cory ahead of time and include this information on your RSVP so we can make sure you’re taken care of.

Will there be alcohol?

Yes! We’ll have a selection of local beer and wine. Just remember: 1 drink at altitude = 2 drinks at sea level, so pace yourself and hydrate.

We’d love for you to be fully present during our unplugged ceremony. The officiant will announce a moment for quick photos, but after that, we kindly ask that phones and cameras stay tucked away. Our photographer will capture all the magic, and we’ll share the gallery with you after the wedding.

Should I visit the photo booth?

Yes! The photo booth doubles as our guest book. Snap a group picture and leave us a message to help us remember the night. We’ll be using KRUU for our photo booth!
